What You Need to Know | Product Knowledge and Installation Seminars

When I first started my career in the flooring industry, I was told that the day you quit wanting to learn something new is the day you should get out. Others in this industry encouraged me to try to learn something new every day. Taking their suggestions seriously, I strived to learn by listening to other salespeople, owners and installers and by asking a lot of questions. My knowledge and confidence grew over time and now I have the opportunity to educate my customers and other team members when they have questions.
Ok, so why did I share my story?
I strongly believe that we should take every opportunity to learn as much as we can about the flooring industry, the numerous products, what styles work best for each unique need and what it takes to install them. With all of the new products being released every year, it is easy to fall behind if you’re not researching and educating yourself as often as you can.
We host seminars periodically to make sure that our customers have the opportunity to view new products, watch installation demonstrations and ask questions. We encourage you and your team to attend these seminars. It is important that everyone in your business understands why certain flooring works better in some situations that others and how to install each type. DOSC01 With all of the floating products now available, between click LVT, WPC and Loose Lay products, to knowing the difference between AirStep and fiberglass products, it is important to have all the knowledge we can get to create a quality installation. Those of you industry veterans also know that “rules” change. Manufacturers learn from experiences and sometimes change the installation rules to eliminate unforeseen challenges. The only way to learn this is to continue to attend seminars and product knowledge meetings. As your TSF Territory Managers, we make it our mission to be highly educated on every product we sell and we are always available to answer any questions you might have. The more we know upfront, the fewer mistakes we make.
If you are interested in having your Territory Manger do a product knowledge training for your sales team and installers, please let us know. We will do our best to arrange in-store product knowledge meetings when requested.
If you are interested in a particular category of training, please send your suggestions and comments to our email address at info@tsf.com.
